Jean: This pattern uses the strips very efficiently – there's very little waste.

Q. Any tips for making this block? 

Jean: Cut carefully so that you get both kinds of triangles (some with blue at the bottom and some with red).

Memorial Day

On this day, we want to take a moment to remember the men and women who have died serving in the United States Armed Forces and to thank the men and women who continue to serve, protecting our country and helping others. 

Sewing a flag quilt is one way to commemorate this holiday and Independence Day and show off a patriotic spirit throughout the year.
